Role Overview
HVAC technicians perform various functions including installing, maintaining, and fixing their customers’ HVAC systems, and ensuring that they are highly satisfied.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Airco in a professional, courteous and customer service-oriented manner on each and every call; you are a proud ambassador for our company.
- You will be experienced in all aspects of retrofitting and servicing forced air furnaces/air handlers, air conditioners, & heat pumps. Particular strong experience with Daikin, Fujitsu, Carrier and York brand issues is preferred. Experience with boilers and hot water heating is also a bonus.
- HVAC installation, maintenance, and repairs for residential customers in accordance with manufacturer specifications and local codes.
- Hot water heater installation, maintenance, service & repair for residential and commercial customers.
- General and other inspections of all types of appliances for residential users.
- Correctly instruct customers on proper care and maintenance.
- Explain, educate and promote the value of Airco’s products, services and programs on every call.
- Contribute to business growth by lead generation.
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor or designate.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of field experience in service and installation of HVAC equipment, is required.
- GAS B TICKET IS A REQUIREMENT. Refrigeration ticket or credentials highly valued or equivalent experience.
- Must have valid Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card, or be willing to certify.
- Must have at least a Class 5 Driver’s License.
- A good driving record is required.
- Your own hand tools are required.
- Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position, i.e. occasional lifting of 25 kg up to shoulder height, frequent bending, occasional squatting/kneeling, working inside and outside in all types of weather within environments that can be dusty and/or slippery.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in written and verbal communications. Additional language skills are considered an asset.
- Must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Must have outstanding customer service skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to understand/learn new technologies (i.e. Electronics/ electricity).
- Very punctual and dependable.
- Must be willing to wear company-supplied clothing.
- Maintain company vehicle to a neat clean and safe standard.
- You understand what good quality means and are not willing to accept substandard work.- You are honest, patient, and proud of the work you do.
- You're not afraid of smartphones and electronic technology.
